I've been having this problem for the pask 20k of my car already, but it wasn't happening as much as recently. Before it only happen once every 2-3k miles, but lately it happened 3 times this week. So heres what happen, when I try to give gas to the car after it stop (stop sign, traffic light, etc... after I driven the car for couple blocks) my engine doesn't rev up, the rev needle stay at 1000 rpm. No matter much I'm stepping on the gas pedal, the engine is not responding, and it also turn on the Check Engine light. I have to turn off the car, and start the car up again, then it goes back to normal. But Check Engine light is still one. It feels like the throttle is not opening up. Anyone knows what kind of problem I might have?

Any mod?I've the same problem,i dun know if is because of my INJEN CAI??I think there's a few members in here had the same problem too!!I THINK they called that the " safe mode" or something like that.It happened 3 times for me already.Just bring her to the dealer and see what they say.Over here(canada,toronto)my stupid dealer just keep reset the SES light for me,and they said they'll keep a record."Just bring it back when it happen again!!"they just keep brushing me off.I really dun know what to do??!!I think i'll need some advise here too!!thanks

 

First of all, any intake or exhaust mods done on your Z?

Normally not a good sign if your Check Engine light comes on and it's even worse if you have a real problem related to it. Like you not able to get it over 1000 rpm.

 

its the throttle body. i have the same problem. take it in and tell them u pulled the code 2135. good luck.

 

the problem is my car already has 65k miles already. So my warrenty is out, so they gonna charge me if I take it in. I have a JWT intake, no exhasut mod.

 

tooskerdo do you know what will the dealer do to my car if I tell them that I'm getting the code 2135? Coz that is the code that I got when I use the OBD reader.

 

Isn't our car a drive by wire? I believe it is...

06 automatic. mine had that problem twice. it was stock and it dosnt do it anymore. my situation was that while i'm driving the needle gets stuck at 1000rpm, and when i rev my engine the needle would still be stuck at 1000rpm, but the engine revs.

right now i have aam plenum spacer jwt pop. will this void my warranty?

 

when he said TPS, what is that??? Throttle Position Sensor??? does anyone know where is that located, and is it hard to replace by myself, coz I don't want to take it in to the dealer if it is something that is not hard to replace, because my warrenty is out.
