Hello fellow Sunsetters, I'm interested in buying new wheels for my Z. I've found a fantastic deal on some Axis Matrix 20s with a rose gold lip. Do you think they will mesh well with the LS color? Thanks for your input.

If you had pics of both those wheels and a profile snap of your Z maybe someone could photoshop them and you could get a better idea (visual image) of the two together?

I have a local shop that said if I ever got black wheels for mine and I wanted an LMS painted lip that he could do that for me. But I just got a great deal on new still in the box 19" NISMO's, so I'll be rolling them in the Spring!

So all that to say, if they didn't go as well as you hoped I'm sure you could find someone to paint LMS over that lip. Just a thought... Good luck!

Funny you mention that when James Chen ( AXIS ) first designed those wheels they used my car for testing the look. I drove down to Axis and they slapped on the wheels for some pictures but this was a last minute request so I did not have my camera with me. James took a bunch of shots but not sure if they even made his webpage or where they ended up. The wheels actually looked good with those wheels on.

Here are some pictures of my Z:

Thanks for the reply, Ed. I found a few shots of a lemans Z with the wheels mounted but it's a rather vague photo and it's difficult to see the overall accentuation. I'm thinking of taking a chance and going with it. If they don't work well, I'm sure I can find someone to take them off my hands.

Don't worry very, very few are. Stone/rock chips are unfortunately not unusual, and our paint is a little on the skinny side which doesn't help.

Yup that is her the only picture I can remember from that day. I could not get any pictures that day since it was a same day thing for me to drive down there.

I bought the new Axis wheels today! Once I have them mounted, I will post pics for all to see. I know someone is likely going to refer to tire size calculator but any recommendations on 20" tires to keep the staggered setup? I was thinking of going with 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20 rear. I'm attempting to run this setup without the need to roll my fenders.

I'm on 20's myself but depending on the offset that will decide if you have to roll the fenders.

^^^ Thank you! Yeah, I really wanted to run the 17x10 all around but i was to worried about it rubbing. Looking back I am still happy with running a staggered set-up. As far as looks go I think both ways look good. 17x10 would probably look more aggressive though.
