Default I tried to search, but the search funtion is broken..HELP!

My wife and I tried to fill up our new Roadster for the first time and the tank showed empty and the digital gauge showed I had like 40 miles left. I start to fill up and everything is great. Suddenly at about 7 gallons, it cuts off. I am like "WTF?". I looked at the trip and we had put about 300 miles on the tank so I know it was almost empty.

After about 5 minutes, and putting maybe 1 more gallon in it..I gave up. Is there a trick I am missing? I tried moving the pump all around and everything.
