I just couldn't resist ...
So after seeing netman's thread about how he traded an '04 roadster for an '05, I started thinking seriously about upgrading to a Touring model with navigation.
I purchased my Enthusiast roadster last May. Basically I fell in love with the Z at first drive, and bought the car I test drove because I didn't want to wait. I really enjoyed the Z, and Le Mans Sunset is a beautiful color. But after netman's post, I started thinking what if ...
I contacted Passport in Alexandria and they basically offered me the same deal, any roadster on the lot for invoice plus $100 (they say they're trying to move a bunch of cars before President's Day). The only problem is they didn't have any Le Mans Sunset roadsters in stock, although they thought they could locate one, albeit at a slightly higher cost. I visited the dealership this morning, and the sales manager suggested I peruse the selection on the back lot and see if there was one I liked (BTW, netman, your '04 SB is parked right out front and was attracting lots of lookers; it's in awesome shape; it looks brand new).
I took a walk with my salesman, and looked them over. They had an Ultra Yellow, a Redline, a Pike's Peak White, Chrome Silver with black, Chrome Silver with blue, a Daytona Blue and a Super Black, all with varying levels of equipment. Well, I thought about the Ultra Yellow and the Redline, but told the salesman to run the numbers on the Pike's Peak White, which was fully loaded with navigation, 18-inch wheels, etc. (well, it doesn't have the kickplates, and I wish I had remembered what netman wrote about switching them out, but the sales guy is pretty cool, so I'll see what I can arrange tomorrow). PPW had actually been my first choice before I bought Le Mans Sunset. The one on the lot was still partially wrapped, too, and had only 8 miles on the odometer.
Anyway, I got the PPW Touring with nav (5 AT) for $38,750 (I've got splash guards, which I guess accounts for the difference) and got $28,527 for my Enthusiast, which is more than Kelly Blue Book quotes for the dealer trade, but less than what it lists for private party sale.
I love the PPW. Man, it sparkles. I didn't have a chance to take pictures, but I will do that tomorrow. Plus, the people at Passport were awesome. I can't wait to see what the service is like, although it looks like they have a great program with a member rewards system. All I san say, netman, is thanks for the eads up!

I am glad my post Already helped out someone else.
Glad you found out that Alexandria is the place to go.
We are going to have to meet up someday with our Z's!
I too plan to take some pics, but it's too dam cold, will then update my Z website. I have been spending my time polishing my 05 SB with Prestige & Perfect Detail Polish (see one of my other threads about that stuff). You should see my new black ZR now! - Yowza!
Nice you saw my 04 ZR is out front. Yep, I kept that baby snazzy, bet they will have a quick resale on it! Again, glad it worked out for you on the PPW Touring. Looks like you got the same cool deal.
Thanks for the post, Netman

The finance guy also called to say that he worked a better deal on the financing (which I was already happy with) saving me another .6 of a point. These guys rock!
That Super Black is awesome, netman! Love the ventilated seats. The background isn't bad, either. Where is that? Annapolis?
I don't have the clear bra yet. I actually have the old-fashioned kind, but I think I may get the clear bra this time, since it's my intent to keep this car indefinitely. The only place I know of that applies the clear bra is Maryland Performance Works in Ellicott City. I'm sure there are others in the area, and people may chime in once they see what I've posted.
Rob Freeman over there quoted me $995 for my other ZR. That included the hood, bumper, fenders, mirrors and lights (I know, ouch, which is why I didn't have it done then, but their work is supposed to be top-notch, plus you get a lifetime warranty). They have a Web site Maryland Performance Works

Am going to have to check these guys out, was not aware of anyone around here that can do this (and to trust to do it). My interest would be the front bumper and side mirrors, would have to consider the rest that you had mentioned. A trip to Ellicott City would be no problem as we travel north fairly often. Maybe we need to organize local forum members for a group deal!
