Default 350ZR break in period

I just read that the 350ZR has a 1,200 mile break in period and you shouldn't exceed 4,000 RPM.

Is that something that should be strictly enforced? When I got my Harley RKC there was a strictt break in mileage & spped requirement, but a lot of discussion as to whether people obeyed the rules or not.

It all depends in each individual, I usually take precaution on the first 1200 miles. This is for the mechanical parts to adjust, after that you can do anything to it. Have fun!!!

I usually take it easy until the rear wheels leave the dealers lot. I own a number of perfromance cars. I am also more aggressive than most drivers and realy enjoy a spirited drive. I have never ever had any engine/tranny issues on any of my vehicles and I have never abided by the maufacturers break in period. But, that's me.

When the factory says: Don't take it over 4000 for the 1st 1200, I don't argue. I think they know more than anybody else.

Factory break in insures the life of the engine... but honestly would you be driving this car for like 300k miles? Don't worry so much about it...
