I heard someone say something about the Z coming out with a convertible in April-May season. The post about that "mysterious" button. I was wondering how much a convertible Z would cost and do you think it will only come on the top of the line Z or do you think you can get one with an Enthusiast?

I want to know the whole cost thing myself. A friend of mine was at a fairly early show where on of the reps told him it would run about 4K more. More than what and with what options I don't know. AND...this was quite early on for the "leak" to be given much credit. However he had also said it was going to be available in early 2003. The 4K sounds about right to me in general if you look at other convertible upgrades on other cars. Anyone know what the last convertible Z went for above the others? One really good thing about them, is that they typically hold their value a bit better. So if it is 4K more, you'll likely get a greater percent back on that money than the base car itself! I'm going to talk to my dealer soon to see if he'll switch my order for one of the first ones.

I had one dealer tell me that the convertible is confirmed for spring of 2003 and it will come in two models--the Touring and a lesser model. He didn't know what would be in the lesser model.

Obviously none of this can be confirmed/denied, but that is what one dealer told me. The other dealers I talked to told me they knew nothing about a convertible.

If I would guess I would say that it was going to be the touring and enthusiast as the two models. Someone in another thread said that they wanted to undercut the s2000 a bit and the only model that they would be able to do that with is enthusiast. They could always use the base, but I believe the enthusiast model is equiped more like the s2000.

Just my uninformed opinion.
