Default 350ZR Air Conditioning

Hi guys,

Summer is upon us. I finally had to turn on my AC and set it to 60 degrees. I drove for about 20 minutes and it didn't even feel like my AC was very cold. I have a 2005 PPW 350ZR with about 3300 miles. Anybody have any problems with the AC? Is the AC in the 350ZR any good???

I thought Nissan actually has pretty decent ACs unlike Honda which usually takes forever for it get cold.

Mine is plenty cold, I never have it down to the coldest setting. Usually keep it around 70 or so. Kick-a#! a/c in my opinion for a convertible. Always comfy top up or down...I guess in the latter situation I'll crank it down, but that's it. Yes, I do run AC with top down, especially when sitting or driving in bumper to bumper traffic in the mid-day sun. Not pleasant! Put the AC to the floor, roll up the windows, and what a difference!!

I have an 05 and it seems my a/c barely works too. I think I should check it out based on these responses.

Something is definitely wrong. Yes, I did press the A/C button. It's not that cold at all. I'm going to get it checked tomorrow. This better not be a big issue or else I'm going to give them Hell!!!!

Just be cool!...Your Air Intake button....is on 60 instead of 90? If it's on 60, take it in...don't worry it's under warranty! Maybe it's an '05 problem?? I love my Z lol

I wasw in heavy traffic yesterday and my A/C would stop cooling at long stops and blow warmer air but once I started moving again it would blow cold. Anybody else experiencing this?

No, but what I am getting is if I set the AC in auto and set the temp to 75 it starts out blowing full force because the car is so hot which makes sense. However, after 10-15 minutes of driving and once the car cools down it still blows at full force and I have to manually adjust it. Shouldn't the AC in auto automaically adjust itself once it cools the car down and reaches the temperature set in auto? Anyone else experiencing this?

I have given up on using the Z's "climate control". I just manually adjust it...top down on full blast 60 all the time. Top up leave it on 60 till I'm cold then turn it to about 70 at 1/4 fan.

I have been doing the same thing. I will be taking it in a few weeks from now for the 3,000 mile maintenance/inspection. I will ask the dealer when I am in there if they know of any problems or want to look at it since it's still covered by warranty.

Be careful about what they try to do for the 3k mile. They said they did all these things for a total of $100!!! All they did was change the oil. They said they put some crap on the battery to keep it from coroding (sp?)...they didnt, said they drained the washer fluid...they didn't because what I put in there was still there(my special mixture), an they said they rotated the tires. I called them on the fact that you can't rotate Z tires. They said they went side-side...cant do that either. I said if they did move my tired they better put them back before they get f-ed up! Thay also said they added something to my gas. I hope they didn't do that...I don't want that crap in there!

Interesting...thanks. I will make sure I inquire about what all gets done for that inspection/service and skip it if I don't think it is worth while. On another note, why is it that the Z's tires can never be rotated? Does that mean you just have to replace all 4 tries once the back ones wear out first?

They cannot be rotated corner to corner because front and back are different sizes. The tread is directional so you cannot rotate them side to side either. Only way to rotate them is to dismount them from the rim and swap left-right. They will probably all wear down at the same time. Not equaly though. 1/2 of your tire will probably be good while the other 1/2 will be dead. LOL

Stopped by the dealer on the weekend for my first oil change and told them about my AC problem. They checked out the car and showed me a report saying the AC is fine and is blowing at 32 F and can't get any colder. I thought the coldest it could get is 60 degrees? I checked it out and put it to 60 degrees with AC button on and top up and it still doesn't feel like it's 60 degrees. Is anybody else with 2005 having the same problem??? How can I prove that the AC is not that cold???
