I think the headlights will grow on me with time. As said before, they are true projector and should give off a light pattern/colour similar to S2K's, 3-series etc.

Lets hope they did put some R&D into feathering etc, but lets face it what looks better in the brochure, "updated interior" or "we finally fixed a problem with the alignment after three years".

I took a look at the wheels/brakes.

The wheels were the same as my 35th Anniversary with the five spokes. The rotors didn't look as large as my Brembos and the brakes themselves were a rather ugly looking steel gray.

We played w/ the headlights to see how the highbeam was built into the headlights (low beam). but I don't remember seeing a color changing pattern that you are referring to.

Paul:
Thanks for chiming in on the brakes.

Sounds like they use an H4 style HID bulb that allows both hi/lo into one capsule.

I like the car overall. I do think the headlights look like eyeballs seriously!! But Maybe I'll like them over the long run if they light up nicely.

I definately want the tail lights even if they look like zits. Anyone look up the price of a G35 tail light? It's super expensive and I bet this Z tail light will be also. Atleast $500 or more.

I like the interior and I'd take it over my Z. But if you get an aftermarket radio, you lose the audio controls anyways................

I have a feeling they eliminated tire feathering by '06......

I love those rear LED tailights....SHO-TIME I appreciate your effort to the Z community. I also like the change on the road hazzard switch...my wife was always hitting that button when I first got my Z. I'm trying to figure out where it is?

I like how they moved the hazards, I constantly turn them on by accident. I also like the additional cupholders.... well cupholders that end up being used for other junk instead of actual cups.

This is pretty standard for nissan to do.

96/97 maxima Updates (New Bumper, New Headlights, New tails)

02/03 Maxima Consmetic updates (Rear Tails/Headlights/New Bumper +20HP)

I used to have a 96 max so I'm used to Nissan doing this crap. Inevitable people that want the extras do 1 of 2 things. Purchase them from the dealer or buy the new model car. So Its all a plot by Nissan to make more money and lesson the value of our now pre-updated Z's.

I'm not a huge fan of any of these new updates besides the new cupholders/steering wheel controls. It just pisses me off though, cause I was looking forward to the next 2-3 years driving the current model vehicle. Now people will instantly know my car is a pre-06 because of the tails/healights. Thats why I bought a new car. Nissan can shove it they managed to **** me off yet again.

No you won't. I've got them now, from a UK dealer, and they integrate nicely with my clarion HU. only thing now is, I won't be exclusive, and it will be a lot cheaper than what I paid ordering them from England.

The Z needs more power. It still has room to move up compared with the next GTRs price.

Nissan needs to stop wasting the VK45DE V8 from the Infiniti line and put it in the Z. A 450Z would be awesome, and easily capable of 350 hp. The engine is very smmoth and among the best 8 cylinders in the world. It's relatively lightweight and they wouldn't expend much funds using it in the Z. The Chasis can accomodate this engine.

I want a v8

Also looks like leather/vinyl inserts on the cloth seats.

oh god save the new Z buyers, nissan is trying to make the Z heavier across the line and more luxurious. Do that to the G35, not the Z

I agree with more luxurious, I bet they realized that not everyone wanted to go to a G35 just for small things that the G35 have over the 350Z (excluding a back seat, different exterior, and higher price tag )

I wonder if the slight hikes in price (over 3 years) allows them to do these "updates" that have a little nicer things?

IMO, I just hope they fixed the following. Everything else is really insignificant.

[1] Tire Feathering & Bounce
[2] Improve Durability of Transmission w/ Better Shifting
[3] Cockpit Rattling Noises.
[4] Power Window Motors
