Test drove a S2000 today....blah!

Default Test drove a S2000 today....blah!

So I took my Z to a local Honda dealership to have my tires balanced. They are one of two local dealerships that can do "Road force" balanceing.

So on the lot was a 05 Honda S2000. It yas a metalic yellow and had a "Honda" body kit on it. Didn't look that bad IMO. So I always wondered how this car stacked up against the Z.

The points I liked:
Tranny....Wow it shifed real nice.
Clutch...Nice and light.
Handling...Little bit better. Steering was a bit quick. But on even par overall
Push button starting...That was cool!!
8,000 RPM redline!!!
Top goes back real fast!!!

Point's I didn't like:
Radio... Controls. Whats up witht ehcontrols on the dash. Serves a purpose but useless if you swap out the head unit.
Climate controls...Not crazy about them.
Power delivery...8,000 rpm to get anything out of the motor.
Soft top operation...Have to use latches to fold back.
Digital dash...not as cool as the 350's gages.

The S2000 really didn't have the pull that I expected. I could feel the Vtec kick in but, it really didn't kick ya in the can like the Z does.

Now if I could put the S2000 tranny and clutch in the 350Z...that would be a kick a$$ car.

Still happy with my 350Z "R" !!

i considered an s2k and still want one really bad. but insurance on that car is very high, and the z is affordable for some reason. one thing i dont like about the s2k is that its competely gutless until 5k rpm, feels like a civic until that point. its even worst on hotter days lol. how hard did they try to push the sale on u lol. and i agree, the clutch and tranny shifts like butter

He tried to get me to sit down and "work the numbers" as he said it.

I said.."Sorry I like my Z better" The style of the S2K is getting dated.

Even the guys in the service area were in awe at how my top got stored away. They said..."Now that's cool!" ----Yes boy's, the Z is more than cool.

I cannot get over the body style of those anyways. I really dont like it. They only come as a 4 banger right? No thanks.
