Hey guys, just got my '05 touring roadster, it's loaded and everything, but the windows are not tinted, I'm contemplating on tinting them this weekend, just want to get your inputs on it.

I did it. I live in Florida though where the sun is most always shining Helps with the heat factor as well..

I've been considering window tint. But when I got in the car with the top down for the first time and witnessed how bad the blind spot REALLY is, I kind of leaning against doing anything to worsen my visibility with the top up.

Then again, with a black car it would be a good idea to tint up so that the car doesn't get too hot.

I never really drive with the top up, so I really have not had a need to tint the windows yet. Someday maybe....

 

I tinted mine and it looks great. Also a you should check out the clear sheild i love it 2. So easy to clean the bugs off and keeps the front from getting all chipped up.

 

Once you let everyone see you for a little while and they know your car. Tint the windows! It's just one of those mods that gives the car a little more appeal.

 

Glad this topic came up, I have been debating it. Although it looks very cool, I decided against it. It looks awesome with the top up but I rarely drive with the top up. On the freeway my windows are up to keep the wind to a minimum and IMO it looks funny with tinted window up and the top down, you lose that convertible look, that is just my 2 cents. My IS is tinted all the way around so I am not against tint. Also Visionboy's rims are HOT, what brand are they?

 

I have mine tinted 10 percent. Top up full privacy top down and window down I'm nude. Also it's fun when you drive with the window down and the guy next to you looks at the Z and looks at you and tries to make eye contact while you. Then roll the window up and he can no longer see you and looks away.

 

Have you have any issues with the cops in socal because of the tint ?

 

As a rule cops will not usally pull you over just for window tinting, but if you get pulled over for like speeding then odds are they will also nail you for the window tinting at that time also....

Of course if a cop thinks you look suspicious they can use the window tinting as an excuse to pull you over to check you out

 

Actually in So Cal a lot of cops can be A-holes so they look out for window tints, no front plates, and aftermarket exhaust. Just keep an eye out for cops and pull down the panties when you see them. Even when it rains...

 

well i have a 10% tint.. and i live in l.a... had my tint since day 1... been driving for a year and no stops/warning/tickets... the only cops who would actually pull you over is every end of the month when those bike cops go crazy and start giving out tickets for stupid reason.... i like my tint... i have a black ZR and i liked the blacked out look..

 

Just make sure you don't forget to tint the wind screen between the seats. It really looks bad azz when you have the top down and the windows down. It just gives the Z that "extra" touch..........

 

hey, bubble.. what tint do u have? i have 35% on my SB zr and i m getting harrassed by the cops to get it 'lightened' up.. but they havent given me a ticket yet.. i think i drive with the windows down n they only notice it when i parked the car...

Do you have pics? I like being completely naked with top down right now. Also when I got my top replaced they replaced the back window so now I'll need to retint the rear.
