He is right buy used cars from private owners, new cars from the dealer.
I just bought a new, 2005 Redline Touring Roadster, 4 weeks ago. Dealer's starting offer was $34,500, I ended up buying for 33,500, plus tax, tags, title. Had 49 miles on it when I took it for the first test drive.
So - to me, if you like the Yellow, $34k is not a bad price. Don't know what else the "Anniversary Edition" has that mine doesn't.
Finding a new, last year's model I think is a screaming deal as compared to buying an '06. Insurance costs are a bit less, car tax (a type of property tax) here in Virginia is a bit less, and of course the car itself is around $6k cheaper than an '06. To me that's a good deal all around - you get a new car but the dealer has already taken the hit on the first year's depreciation.

Diamond Flyer, well done, you got a good deal!
Mine has AT, 18" tires, plus cargo net, mats, kick plates, splash guards. I'm loving it.
I see you're also in Virginia. Where did you buy yours? Mine is from Mike Pallone in Springfield.
You're right about it being Nissan corporate and not the dealer itself that takes that depreciation hit. Either way, who cares, it was someone other han me is all I care about.

Wow! I shoulda waited another couple of weeks!
But then probably would have missed it.
Sometimes I've been smart; sometimes I've been lucky; the best of times were when I was smart enough to know I was lucky!
