Thinking hard about the convertible ZR
Guys,
I own a coupe (base) for a little over 2 years now, but thinking about getting a 350zr (probably a used one). I always wanted one, but didn't have a garage for it until recently.
In Feb. of this year, I had a buyer for my coupe but chicken out.
I am hesistant to pull the trigger because the Z has been out for a while now and a new model might come out
Btw, I owned a previous 1988 and 1994 Z models.
Tony

A "new" model is always going to come out - eventually.
If you're thinking of buying used, shouldn't matter because the first owner already took the lion's share of the depreciation. If you want a convertible, buy one! I'm loving mine, love driving it, love the cool breezes, love the steady feel of it on the road.
Just going by the numerous problems owners of the '03's have posted, I'd probably stay away from that year, but if you can find an '04 or '05 that fits your budget, I'd say go for it!
Or if you'd really rather have a new one, wait a month or so and see what deals you can get on an '06. If dealers have unsold convertibles on their lots, they start getting nervous around mid-July - early August.
'course you're in California, so maybe that logic doesn't apply, where it's convertible weather all year.

Alright try this....go to your dealer, take one out for a rip with the top down. Guaranteed it will help your decision
.
The nice thing about the ZR is they are more rare than the coupe, so even when a new model comes out it won't look as dated.
