Default Where's the news on the Convertible?

I can't believe we don't know more about the convertible yet. All we have is that it's coming, and a half dozen pics with the top down. Where are the pics with the top up? What trim levels will it be available with? Where is the price list?

I think this slow drip drip drip of information is the latest form of water torture...

End rant. I will now go back to my room and sulk until they dribble out another piece of information... which probably still won't answer any of the questions I asked above.

Default Maybe sooner

There are sales meeting before the NY show and dealers might get some early info about ordering and options.

I went to the Chicago Auto show last Saturday and talked to the Nissan people about the roadster.

They claimed that the price will be about $3-4K over the coupe at whatever the selected trim is (probably Touring) with all colors available. They showed me a picture of it with the top down which of course I had already seen 300 times before.

I wish I could go to the New York Auto show in April.

A $3-4k price premium is reasonable (preferably 3 ) I just hope they will make it available on something other than just the touring trim level. An enthusiast would be ideal - I'd be willing to pay $31K for a 'vert. But I'm not willing to pay $37-8K.

I just got back from the regional dealer meeting in Dallas. The showed a short video on the operation of the soft top.

The two hoops stay, as pictured.

Right behind the hoops is the hard tonneau cover which is motorized and flips up and back to let the top stow beneath.
Because it is a 2 seater, the TOP-UP look is more akin to a Miata, as opposed to an Eclipse spyder.

It will have a glass window

One latch, and one button operation...very simple.

Will the soft top have a head liner like the Eclipse, Z4, and boxster?

Also, did they give any info on offering a detachable hard top for winter driving?

Thanks for the info!

Ditto the questio on a removable hard top. That woud be an awsome option.

Don't suppose you have any pics, or a copy of that video...

He can probably "borrow" the video for a while right?
