I have noticed lately that when I drop the top on my 04.5 roadster, it goes through the entire process. When the tonneau cover closes, it doesn't close completely. There is perhaps another inch that it has to go before it "locks" and the convertable light on the dash goes off. I then have to push the button to close the top for about a second so the cover raises slightly, and then push the button to open again. Then the cover closes completely, locks into place, and the light turns off. I would imagine I need to take it in to the dealer but thought I would ask here first.

 

Mine started doing that a while back. Mine does that the first time it opens then after that it always latches properly. I took it to service and they saw it did it on the first open. They couldn't find anything and called Nissan tech but tech was no help either. Now, it will latch on the 1st open sometimes and sometimes it won't.
