I just have a av headphone plug in my nav system's video imput. Sounds great, and it is very easy to disconnect when exiting the car. It doesn't charge, but I have a 14 battery life in my nano. Plus I can hold up the ipod when searching for songs in traffic.

I went to the website following the hyperlink and also found there wasn't a compatible one listed. What gives here? Why in the world would someone list a product website and then it's not there?

I use a cassette adapter to connect my MP3 player in the Z. There is only a short piece of wire showing between the cassette slot and the side of the console, with single wire neatly tucked in under the edge of the center console on the driver side. The other end that has the plug (to connect to MP3 player) comes out behind the parking brake (between the seat and the center console) and rests by the parking break with the plug near the ash tray.
In the Z, I mostly use my cell phone (Audiovox SMT5600) to listen to MP3s (it is loaded with 2gb of music). It integrates perfectly in my Roadster and fits perfectly in the ashtray (it does not slide around and stays securely in place) with the lid open. It faces up, allowing me to control the MP3 functions by touch, without having to take my eyes off the road.
It is a bluetooth phone, so when a call comes in while I'm listening to MP3s, music interrupts (if I decide to pick up the call) and automatically resumes right after I complete the call.
Very convenient setup, works great and looks good.

Try the link above. I just got a raodster and posted in another site. The link above is what someone posted. It seems like it will work, though I have yet to order it. If you get it, e mail me at vitella@comcast.net and let me know what you think.
Thanks!

$200 for an iPod interface or $100 for Audio Allies adaptor just to listen to my MP3s, and only in one car ???

You can achieve the same results by using a simple casette adaptor (or FM transmitter for about $30 if you have an '06 Z with no cassette player). I paid about $5 for my cassette adaptor, and I can easily transfer it between cars to allow me to listen to MP3s in almost any car, and not just in my Z.

Also if anyone has used this device and can provide feedback would be good to.

I just bought the PA11-NIS which is designed for the 350z, it has a input specifically for the IPOD and Audio inputs for anything else you want to plug in... Plugs into the back of the factory stereo...

Radio requirements [please check your radio before ordering---if the radio does not meet these requirements the PA11-NIS will not work]
¹ Must have "CD" button on radio face
² For double-DIN radio with CD/CHG button only
³ Must have "CDC" button on radio face.
Compatible with Navigation but not compatible with factory installed Sirius or XM.
Compatibility & Notes:[These requirements must be met for this part to work]
1. Compatible with listed 1999-06 Nissan/Infiniti factory radios with external Changer controls. [installing the PA11-NIS does NOT interfere with the in dash 6-CD Changer radio][see footnotes for more details]
2. Compatible radios must also have a 12-pin Changer Connector on the back of the radio
3. Vehicle cannot be equipped with an external CD Changer (if so it must be disconnected from the factory radio).
4. Text and display information remain with the iPod. The Nissan/Infiniti radio will not display iPod text. You will see playlist and track numbers only.
5. Click to enlarge picture detail
I don't think the non-Bose unit has a CD changer output on it, so I doubt it will work

Get rid of the OEM radio, You'll be happier in the end. Almost every aftermarket headunit out there has an AUX in these days. Many new units have specific Ipod adapters so you can control the ipod from the headunit and charge it as well.
The cassette adapter is only a step above the FM transmission, but is far from the quality of a hard wired connection.

FM transmitters usually are crap if you buy anything under 80$. I'v had a 40$ one and a 50$ one. Both of them sucked but i broke down and bought an 84$ one and it works PERFECT. I never have any problems with it except with in the opel cause the cig lighter is messed up. It charges the ipod at the same time but it does have to be plugged into a cig lighter.
It doesnt break up at all either, iv had it on 88.1 since i got it and have yet to change it cause of interference.
