Cool Tires for a 2006 Roadster

Can someone please advise me if you need to put the low profile tires on the 350Z ROADSTER when replacing. The Potenza that came on the car are a bit expensive.

Low profile the thickness of the tires. can you go with a more regular type tire.

you could maybe go with a little higher profile, but i don't think you'd want to. the taller tire would make the car's responsiveness and cornering ability go to crap.

go to www.discounttire.com and do a search for each size tire. there are several good options that are substantially cheaper then the stock potenzas. i forget right now, but i think the rears are 245/45 18's and the fronts are 225/45 18's on the base through touring models. then i think the track and grand touring models have 265/40 19s in back and 245/40 19s in front

If you don't stick with a tire size that is similar to the overall dimensions of a stock tire setup it could throw off your anti-lock brakes and traction control, not to mention it could raise your car higher off the ground

You could always downgrade to 17" rims, tires will be cheaper for that rim size then 18" or 19" rims..

Along with discount tire, the tire rack has pretty good deals to... www.tirerack.com

The track/gt models are 18's in the front, 19 rear. Another good site is the tire rack.

I went with 18" Avon's from Tire Rack $615/4. I am happy with these tires so far, can't really see a difference between them and the originals. I am in FL so I don't have to deal with snow.

You have to stay with a low profile tire so that it fits properly into the wheel well but go to a tire with a harder compound. A very good and reasonabily priced tire is the Falken FK-452. You can get these in the size you nee 245/45/R18 and 225/45/R18. Changing the size of the tires won't help the wear problem but going to a harder compound (tread wear) will. The tread wear of the Bridgestone tires is 140 while that of the Falkens is 300.
