Default How I Repaired My Cut Top and Trading ZR

Since I got the insurance money for a new top I decided to see what it would I could do to repair the cut I got. This is what I did:

1. Superglued Vinyl Patch to back of top behind the cut.

2. Superglued the cut together making sure to get glue underneath so it glued to the patch.

3. Found some vinyl sealent a Lowes. Applied vinyl sealent with a toothpick over the seam and let dry.

3. The superglue and vinyl sealent left a white streak so sanded it down a little first with 220 grit then 800 grit.

4. Local auto paint supply store had some vinyl paint so found the color that matched the top the best and sprayed it after masking off the area.

It didn't turn out too bad. Its still noticeable in some ways as the paint color doesn't exactly match. I'll see if I can take a picture before I take the car to trade it in.

I'm going to trade the ZR in for an 2007 Audi A4 convertible. I'm anxious as to what the dealer is going to say about the repair or if he notices it. Its been nice posting with you guys. My car came in and I wasn't sure when the replacement top would get here so I just decided not to replace the top and chance it.

tjungroth is evidently the creator of the black hole patch kit so its a bot or he is just promoting his own product.
