Default Top didn't go fully down today

Guys,

After work, I decided to take the top down. It goes 3/4 down, til the end where it was about 1 foot left then it got stuck. I tried 3 more times and gave up. When I got home it works

Btw, do u pull the handle all the way down before you hit the "open" button?

Were you able to return the top to the closed position before driving home or did you have to drive with the top 3/4 retracted?
Yes, I pull the release all the way down before engaging the open switch.

It was able to go up fine. Just that position it couldn't go down. If I had a person there, a push down would probably do the trick.

Mine is doing that also. Sometimes it pops then goes down. This happened as a result of a resent top replacement. Going to take it back in to have nissan look at problem.

It was REALY cold here the other day, near 0, and tried the top. Not even close to closing. A couple of days later it warmed up, and noooo problem.
Mine also pops a bit then closes fully.

It never gets even close to that cold here in Tucson, but I also hear the pop, actually more like a snap, when the first hinge disengages while retracting. No snaps when closing, so it sounds like it must be a temperature-related problem. I checked w/ the stealership to make sure things were properly lubricated and got a clean bill of health. Maybe the material the top is made of just gets too stiff w/cold to compress sufficiently to accomodate smooth operation/full closure?

Please keep us posted. The entire top up/top down operation is sooo slick, but it also seems like it could be fraught w/ problems as our cars get older. I'm currently having problems w/ the auto down window function and headed back to the dealer tomorrow under extended warranty. NOT looking forward to that, since I expect them to tell me it's not covered.

It happened to me again this weekend, but this time, I knew the problem was the temperature. Drove around the block until it warm up.

Same problem for me. Also seems to be temperature related, though if I work it up and down a few times it sometimes clears.
My dealer has no idea what the problem is, though he is currently looking at the microswitches in the roof control unit. I still say its physical, not electronic.
Please someone post the way their's was fixed!

I think it must be a temp issue. I just had my top replaced in November and now the first open of the day it hangs up(only had a few opportunities, need at least 60 and sunny to go topless). However, it had been cold prior days and overnight, so that must be the issue on the replacement tops. My original never seemed to have that problem through 2 winters.

I never realized there was a temp limit in the manual.

Mine stuck the other day and I haven't had the car a week yet. Seemed like it caught something at one of the hinges. Tried it again and it went down. Temp was about 50 degrees.

If yours did it on a brand new vehicle, it must be the new top design/material. My original never did it. When I demonstrated it at the dealership, he thought he saw where it was catching, but since it only does it the first attempt of the day, they never were able to duplicate it. But it does seem like there might be some clearance issue at the colder temps.

I had the same problem. And i figured out what caused it to get stuck. I dont know if i am accurate, but i noticed that when i dont put the top down for a long time, it has a hard time going down. The cause of it i think is, cuz it keeps the shape for so long and when the top goes down it fills it with air and has a hard time compressing it down.

So what i did is pull it back up a little and then down again, and it works. Also i think when your top is dirty it causes that problem as well.

I may be wrong and if i am please correct me.

I have noticed that when this happens on mine that if I step on the gas and give the motor a little extra juice just before it reaches the point where it gets stuck that it will go down fine. If someone else could confirm this I will feel better . I thought this was just a problem I was having as well.

i am having almost the same problem. it only happens every now and then. when i put my top down the lid will not shut all the way. i have to bring the lid straight up the shut it again. then it works.
