Default Roadster Top Closing Problem

I have a 2004 that recently I have been experiencing problems with the top closing completely. When I close it, the boot/cover willnot completely latch down so I need to hit the up button slightly, reach around over the back wind glass and give it a nudge while it is settling in. I must make mention that it worked perfectly in the heat of summer but on 60ish degree days, it seems sluggish. I asked the dealer and they said that was normal. Not a big deal if it works well in the heat as I don't put the top down often on cooler days. I just do it because I can.

Any one else having this problem?

I get the same thing. I have the car garaged for the winter but wanted to put the top down inside, make sure all the bits and pieces keep working ya know!

Mine also got stuck and needed a bit of a nudge, hoping it's not going to be a recourring issue when it's warmer, I would feel like an idiot banging on the top trying to get it all the way down.

Default Had Same Problem with my 2004

I had the same problem as you when I had my 2004 ZR. I took it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything. They also called Nissan Tech and they didn't know anything to do either. I had to press the up button a little and then press down to get it to latch.

The manual says that you're not suppose to open your top at temperature under 50 (or some) degrees of temperature.

Default Top

That's craaazy. My top just started having issues most recently. When retracted, it doesn't latch completely. I just took it to the dealer today to find out what's up. I've had to physically get out of the car, and put all my weight on both sides to get the cover to latch. I'm no "big thing", so it took a lot of strength. It's been somewhat embarrassing at times.
I never thought about temp affecting it.....good to know.

According to my manual for the 04's it says not to operate the top below 32 degrees fahrenheit.
