Default Tops

Just talked to the dealer. My roadster's been at the dealer a few days now.
They claim the top needs adjustments.....I too have been having issues with my top not latching after retracting. I commented that it may be due to the cold weather. They didn't seem to agree, and said it needed adjusted for $75.
I have to comment on some of the bra comments. May I just say, I love the look of a bra on the front of a Z. But, I'm a chick, and think they look sexy and add some character. I've had a lot of experience with bras over the years.....ha, ha.

I don't understand why the dealer is charging $75 to fix this problem. Are you out of warranty?

I agree with BluHvn, why is dealer charging you anything for the top adjustment. Re: the bras, I use them on all of my fun cars and have for years. I have no problem with how they look and they do work. I don't leave them on indefinitely. I learned the hard way years ago on my 280ZX. I left the bra on for months, when I took it off the hood was two tone. Kind of an interesting look. I now only use the bra if I am driving around a 100 miles or more and primarily highway driving. I also have the mirror covers.

Now the dealer says they want to replace the top motors. My warranty should cover it. I have no problem with that--as long as I'm not paying for it.
I take my bra off sometimes. I like to let the front-end breath once in a while. i know how constricting a bra can be.

Good to hear the dealer is taking care of the top issue at no cost to you. It's always a pain when the dealer does not own up to his responsibility in the first place without a hassle for everyone. It would make these situations much more stressfree.I don't know about the (bra) constricting factor but breathing is a good thing.

Hmmmm

On new cars I prefer the bra-less look, but after the car has aged some and time has chipped its paint then a bra looks good... Its the same with girls, young they look better without a bra, but as they get older, a bra is a must !!!

So what are you really trying to say?

I am just waiting for someone to chime in and ask if you can take the bra off yourself or if you would like someone to come over and show you how they usually do it?

Enough bra talk. I love 'em.....I hate 'em....

Onto a new issue..... my wing.

I have a Stillen wing I want to have attached, but the paint shop is leery about just double-stick taping it to the back-end, and not attaching it with screws. Any suggestions that will keep it stable for a long, long time without destroying my trunk?
They're also afraid that the paint won't look very good, since the wing is rubber, and not metal. I had to go with the specific wing designed for the Roadster, due to weight issues.

If you want it to work without drilling, use 3M tape. They make one for body mouldings and such, and it sticks. I used it on my last car's spoiler, and even at 108 mph (fuel pump shut off there), it held tight.
