My Car is getting close to the end of the warranty, It's got almost 31K, and the warranty expires in april anyway.. The top is starting to seperate a little bit in the corners, but i don't think it's enough to get it replaced yet, what do i do?

 

Take it in right away..do yourself a favor and read all the threads on top issues. Your covered under warranty. Once it separates...it will definitely get worst!!!!!

 

If you saw how my top was separating on my second top, you'd think no dealer in the world would replace it. they did, and didn't ask questions.

Nothing major really, the seam started coming apart at the back rib, where everyone else has had problems. No actual hole, just the appearance of one panel pulling away from the other.

 

If they don't take it, grab a knife, cut open the top, call your insurance agent and tell them someone broke into your car.

 

No, you go home, put the top up, and pull at the rear seam until you can see daylight.

 

Mine has a hole so.. I'm not worried..

 

Yay.. Top is being replaced.. Parts will be in next week!

 

Just to make sure. The top would have double stitching if it was replaced correct? The originals had single stitching right?

 

Yes.. The guy told me they don't make the single stitch anymore... Total parts/labor cost to them was 1831.11 lol.. Good Deal..

 

When you get some time..can you post a pic of the new double stitched top & post the part number of your top. BTW what year is your Z?

I don't have the top yet, it's going back into nissan in about a week. But I will post before and after pics.. and my Z is a 2004

my roadster had a very small hole in the corner where you could see light through and got the dealer to replace it under warranty.

 

i got mine replaced and it only took a couple days...i had some thread splitting on the driver and passenger side.....if you have warranty i suggest getting it done asap...not a was dime spent..the only thing was that i have a datona blue zR and they discontinued the blue top and instead they gave me a black top....its all good though because you can hardly see the difference at night and i think it looks fine as it is... no problems with it and happy with the results....

 

my warranty is shot... i have a tear in the back corner.... how would i go about getting it fixed with minimal cost? =/

 

Got it back today.. Will post pics after I clean the rest of her.. Came out good..
