Default Slashed Convertible Roof

A few nights ago someone was nice enough to slash the roof on my Z for me. Now I'm having a hell of a time getting it replaced as there don't seem to be any replacement tops in Canada. I have hear about aftermarket tops but don't have any experience with them. Can anyone comment on their experience with these aftermarket tops and perhaps where they got them. Any assistance you can offer is apprecaited.

This is why the roadster needs a hardtop!

It almost seems more reasonable to keep the top down.. Sorry to hear about the vert.

LOL well not really... a friend of my husband who owns a ZR had a condom thrown into it while he ran into a store.

If I had to choose between 2 evils, I'd rather have a slashed soft top than a keyed hard top.

Sorry to hear that. The dealers should be able to help you order one. I don't think they stock them, which means it would take some time. Installation also take a bit of effort. This is not gonna be cheap. Are you going thru insurance? Where did you park to get cut?

I saw that one, I have emailed the seller a few days ago but still haven't heard anything back.

No Nissan does not stock any of these items, this top will have to be ordered from Japan (3 - 4 week wait) .. The dealer wants $2100.00 CDN for the item plus 7 hours to install it..

there are two cuts behind the passenger side window Approx 8 - 10inches each... I managed to stop by an upholstery shop and they were good enough to put a temporary patch on it so it won't leak. Until I get the replacement top in.

I will try and take some pics although it might be difficult to see now that the patch is in place.. Regardless, I will still post some pics..

But back to the original reason for this post. Has anyone had any experience with these aftermarket tops I keep hearing about? Price, availability, how comparable to the OEM product are they?

Any info on this would be apprecaited.

Regards

That is a given, however the question I am trying to have answered is it is worth the 3 - 4 week wait to get the part from the dealer or are the aftermarket tops just as good..???
