Hey folks,
I am suppose to be the first on the list to order the roadster from a dealership and I've been given the run around for three weeks now. They say there's been a delay in ordering system, and that they can't put the order into the computer.
I was wondering if anyone here is encountering the same problem, or if the dealership was just simply trying to screw me?
thx.

I think your guys are telling the truth since I am getting the same story from my dealer. The don't have final pricing yet and can't enter my order in to the computer.
The first thing that will happen is that dealerships will get a roadster or two from the factory. Not anything that they ordered, just whatever the factory sends. Sort of "demo" roadsters. Then, later, the ordered ones will arrive.
At my dealership they will give each person on the list a chance to buy the early ones. If they pass, the next guy has the option.
thats all I know.

Seems unlikely that there'll be a demo roadster. There were no demo coupes, mine was one of the first two that Executive got.
If there was to be a demo, it would get sold the day it arrived anyways. If they don't let people test drive the coupes, there's no way anybody will be test driving a roadster.
Which dealer did you order from? I'm sure I asked before.

well I was told I can order them specificly to my preference. Color, trim, options and all. Not actually order them, but reserve the one that fits my request that is already headed to the US.
Keep your eye on www.nissannews.com
The pricing will show up here the same time it shows up at the dealer's desk.
They posted the initial roadster info here within a few minutes of the NY premier.

But has anyone gotten a dealer to tell them how much over MSRP they are planning to sell the first cars for?... that's what I'm having toruble getting out of them. I've heard the roadster will be around 6000 more than the coupe... but final price depends on how much they plan to soak us over MSRP.
Nissan Ordering 101 LISTEN UP
There is ONE time during the month, a 2 day window, where a dealer can modify their ALLOCATED cars to their specifications. You can not just ***** nilly order cars and get them, thats not how Nissan works.
If the dealer has not earned a car...they can't order one for you, simple as that. It doesn't matter what you wrote up or left for deposit, thats how it works.
The fisrt prod. period will be Nissan Specified cars, meaning the first chance to actually modify an order MAY be for the August production month...which translates into a late Aug. or September delivery.
You may "order" a car, and then the dealers car may be close enough to "match your order, in that case you get that one.
I didn't charge over MSRP for the coupes, and I don't plan to for the convertibles either.
