Hello.
I am fourth on the convertible list at a local dealer and am the only person looking for the ventilated seats.
Does anyone have a release date for this option? Everything I read says this option will not be available on day one.
Thanks.

Well.. I would imagine that it's standard. If it isn't then it's not much of an option b/c it means getting new seats. It could also be a Touring model only since the Touring model is the only leather package(the ventilated seats had leather trim IIRC)

The vented seats are an option with the touring model only. It comes standard with the regular leather but you can get them as an option. They will not be available on the enthusiast...

The vented seats are probaly not what you think they are. They are just a mesh seat material that has a few openings on it. Pictures that I have seen are pretty ugly.

I can live with the color, what I will not be able to live with is if they do not have A/C blowing through the vents.

I dont think any AC is coming through them
could be wrong but I think the term ventilated seats may be misleading, but I think the term was given by people of the forum, not be nissan... nissan never said they were ventilated, more or less just a new different pattern.
a way to not have cloth without the sticky seat scenario that happens in hot weather specially with a conv and leather seats..

No, it actually says "heated and ventilated seats" on Nissan's website. This would lead me to believe that they have some sort of active air-moving device in them, even if it's not connected to the AC system. If not, that's very misleading...

I didnt know that, yeah if they dont it would be misleading, I thought the ventilated part was just a name we gave them.
hmmm if they are ventilated, me want.
tho I actually think they are god aweful ugly... that material does not look like itd be comfortable on the back of your thighs.

They better be air conditioned. That is why the 350Z went to the top of my list.
I was thinking about a used Boxster, but once I heard the Z would have the ventilated seats, it became my top choice.
Hope we can nail down the facts, soon!

bmw 745 has it... and it is heavenly. of course they also move in every way possible(you can control the lateral support...) but it is also heated, and will massage you.
I think some other high end cars have it as well but I cant name any other than 745. but at 80grand and up, cant really expect it in the Z so much...
edit: I dont own a 745, or anyone in my family, but me and my mom often spend our saterdays at dealerships looking at all sorts of cars. its good fun. that car drives like a dream with that anti roll stuff. and it brakes faster than the Z IMO, the frightening thing is that it was in a POURING RAIN!!! an incredable car.
