Default stock subwoofer replacement?

I want to replace the stock sub that I have in my ZR with something a little bit more powerful, and put it in the same place. What size will fit without any modification needed whatso ever?

is it worth it or not also?

Do a little searching -- especially in the audio section. There is a lot of good info there! Plus, I think there is a member here who even builds custom boxes.

You'll want to avoid replacing the stock sub with an upgrade. One, it's designed in a free-air system. Two, If you really want to keep the stock location, you'll have to seal the inside completely. Three, not many 10" subs will fit in the factory mounting bracket without modification.

great so im screwed lol because i have a after market head unit with navagation that has a little bit to much power for the stock sub, so it does not sound right but than again i am coming from a completely custom system, custom trunk in my old car lol so i might need to get adjusted

yo coult pritty much get any 10" sub. all you hae to do is seal the inside (of where the OEM sub used to be with dyno mat) and you will have to make a
10" ring around the sub for clearance when mounting it to the original place. 1-2 hours max. you could go it your self very simple.
+ the OEM sub is self amped so you will need an amplifier. (i prefer JL MOnoblock 500/1) as for the sub (JL W7 10")
