Default Advice/Guidance on lubing the roof mechanism

Hi guys,

Like a few others I am starting to have problems with my roof cap not closing properly due to the roof not retracting 100% on the first attempt.

I made the mistake of taking it to my local Nissan dealer who charged my $96 and ended up just lubing the cap latch which of course did sweet f..k all.

Could anyone give advise on exactly which areas to pay attention to, recommend a lubricant etc etc as I'm concerned I'm going to burn out my hood motor.

Joel

I would lube all joints. I recommend Dupont Teflon multi purpose dry lube that can be found at Lowes for around $5 a can.

You're welcome. Just make sure you have a rag to catch the excess lube that may drip but it dries pretty quickly. You don't want it on your interior.
