Default Top mechanism and latches

Should the top mechanism and various latches supposed to greased on occasion? Just curious...

Although the factory does not recommend lubrication of mechanisms, others have found that it is quite important.

I will pick up a can of the mentioned lube and give it a shot over the holiday weekend...
