Question Anyone order a 350Z Roadster for MSRP

Hi,

Been to a few dealers in Central Florida and the best I could come up with to order a Touring Roadster with all options was $3,000 over MSRP with an October delivery date. Anybody come up with a better deal to order one? I can't see paying $3,000 over MSRP for a car I won't see for 3 months. The dealers are telling me they will only get 3 Roadsters allocated for the whole year. That seems like a real small amount.

Well, after a few phone calls, Nissan of Lakeland (about 50 miles from me) agreed to locate a Black 350Z Roadster Touring edition @ Sticker + Tax, Tag and $425 dealer prep fees. Put down a $2,000 deposit. Hope to get delivery some time before October. The salesman Jim was a pleasure to do business with, much better than the bunch of gouging bastards in Orlando.

Default MSRP + 900adm

I got my Z Roadster for MSRP + $900 Additional Dealer Markup - I am first on the list in Mobile, AL and they say I will get mine around August 1 ( I Hope they meant 2003)

I ordered a Silverstone, Charcoal Leather, 18" wheels, Touring, 6 speed.

I would wait a few months, DON"T PAY MARKUP!!!!! Now you can purchase a new Z for a few dollars cheaper than MSRP! Besides, the first year you have problems ---wait till next summer. Just my 2 cents from experience!

As somebody who has paid over MSRP for a sports car (not the Z), I can promise you it is something you will regret in a few months.

Dealer markup is asinine; it has no VALUE. It's like handing $900 to somebody on the street. If they won't give you MSRP, tell them to call you when they come to their senses, and walk out of the dealership.

They'll probably offer you MSRP before you get in your car. If not, I absolutely assure you that they will call within a week.

Default Paying MSRP

I am #3 on the roadster list at my dealership and I agreed to pay just MSRP. They didn't even try to tack on a "rip off fee".

By end of the year, no one would be paying for markups, that's when you feel stupid for doing so.

Angry Damn!! My Dealer is trying to "F" me BAD!

I read all of these post and I just get so mad!!!! The dealer I am dealing with calls me and says they want $45,000 for the car and he does not even bat an eye!

It just pisses me off that I order this car and wait 4 months and now they are trying to gouge me AFTER he told me that "we don't do that here!' Lying Bastards!

I will posts all over this web site and any other 350Z site if they stick to their guns on this BS price!

Please give me thoughts and help guys!

I ordered a Lemans Sunset touring roadster with 18" wheels and I have been quoted MSRP in writing. I have been waiting a month already, looking at waiting two more possibly. I guess if I can wait that long, I can wait till next spring, given the advantages of waiting. Price drop, 1st year problems solved, the solidification of specs for the various trim levels, possibly more options. ( Like noone knows if 18 inch wheels come standard on the touring 6spd, or whether the optional wheels mentioned on the website come with the pressure sensors. see my other thread on this subject ) Maybe I can find a set of 18 inch "track" wheels in the interim. I put 10% down on mine, thats 4 large I am not seeing for months and I don't have anything to show for it.

This has me worked into severe agitation. It would be great to just get it over with and move on, for better or worse.

I have a 350ZR Touring 6MT on order for MSRP. Delivery date is first of Oct. Another dealer called to day to tell me they got in a CS Enth 6MT that he would let me have it for MSRP also. I was tempted to cancel my order and go pick up the CS. Most dealers are adding $4K to over $15K to MSRP out here in the Southern Calif area. At least there are some decent dealerships out here.

Good luck on your search.

I've got a super black touring m/t all options except dvd/nav coming in 2nd week of August. Straight MSRP tax&tags comes in under $40K. FYI there is a dealer in Iowa, just listed on "zcar.com" that he has 2 roadsters he is looking to move at MSRP. I've got a 91 2+2 Pearl White-T tops and a 93zx red convertible, can't wait to get my hands on the 350. There is nothing like a convertible. Nothing comes close. I have never not owned a convertible since I got my license in 1965. Boy, I can't believe I'm this old.

Talking Well I have GREAT news...

I am now a happy camper once again!

After getting the bad news from those GOUGING jerks, I called a bunch of dealers and I found a great dealer who has what I want coming in soon. It was a pleasure dealing with them and I got the car at MSRP!

I can't wait to call the other thief and tell him that there are quality dealers that won't rip me off because "this is a hot car and it will be hard to get". So now he can refund my down payment and lose my business.

By the way I will post a thread to name this dealer--->I mean thief and tell my whole story cuz I want everyone to know my experience with this particular dealership.

Yup, I ordered my Roadster from Bob Sharp for MSRP. Should be in around October. There as no hassle at all. They just said "We aren't discounting the Roadster, but we aren't tacking on any extra either." So far they have been good to deal with.

They were also selling coupes at a discount early this year. So far I can really recommend them.
