no but the transmission cooler in the radiator does. if that is not plugged you will shoot transmission fluid all over the place and not go anywhere. seeing that the car is an automatic, i don't even see the hoses for this hookup. as for startign it without coolant in the car, i hope you have the means to take the engine to an engine specialist, since they know what they are doing, and take it apart to make sure you didn't dammage it since you say you started it and drove it.

lol..thats why you bypass the trans cooler and plug them in directly into each other. that way nothing shoots out anywhere. starting it up without cooler is no problem, you can even drive without cooler. just make sure you dont keep it on long. just a few minutes will have no effect on the engine or anything else for that matter. dont let it run till it gets hot.

There is no way I would even think of getting into a project like that. The amount of parts and repairs would be way too much unless you own a 350z salvage yard I'd rather buy a good used ZR. The headaches and the time spend on repairing are gonna be a major pain and a good chuck of cash. On another note driving it for a few minutes is not my idea of a good test drive and there is no way possilble to get a feel for how it would hold up at normal speeds and or traffic conditions.

yo man good luck with the project, the people on this site sometimes talk alot of junk and are just hating.....I rebuilt my roadster and saved a decent amount of money....mine was a salvaged vehicle and now its completely rebuilt....i posted pics of before and after. it took a year to do but was worth it. so good luck to you and just ignore all the negative comments some individuals make.

damn man, good luck with putting that thing back together. But yeah, as many others have pointed out in this thread, wouldnt you end up spending more money just reconstructing the car?
But if you accomplish this man, major props to you.
