Default leather seat color

Guys,

I am thinking of getting the leather seat replace. My car is ppw with blue top. Inside is frost.

I had the burnt orange in my coupe before and it looked great.

Any color suggestion that looks classy? I am thinking of black with brown stiching.

Thanks,
Tony

How about a blue to match the top? Or a pearl white to match the car. Would be cooler to sit on than black.

I have a white roadster as well, and wish the interior and top were a burgundy color.

I think Blue would look nice. Maybe a shade darker than the blue top.

Isn't pearl white the same as frost ?

I mean the color of the body of the car itself: not a pure white but a white to match the car's exterior.

Good luck. Have fun with it.

Isn't the top down most of the time? I wouldn't worry about matching to the top. I actually like the frost a lot, although I love my burnt orange - and ventilated - seats.

I wonder if you could do some sort of ventilated insert?

I'm not sure why these seats arn't more popular across other manufacturers. I love the fact that the sun can beat down on my seats in the summer and I can sit down on them with relative comfort.

My dad has tan seats in is roadster and keeps a towel with him in case the seats get too hot.

I think its like getting a paint job. There are $300 options and $2000 options, it all depends on the quality you want.

I had a pair of seats re-upholstered for an '86 Carrera I once had. It came to $1200 for custom made covers including piping and it looked factory.

Maybe search around the site for some pics/prices.

check out classic soft trim. with them you select the material, the color and the stitch. On the picture i showed you on my previous post, the two tones, the leather in the middle is perforated to keep the heated seats (not that I need them) and the stitches are gray to give it an nice touch. but with them you can create any combination and it is way under 1000....

I have a PPW roadster with a frost interior also. I always thought that the interior would look great in that car if it were a tan or some earth tone like that. Not an attention getter just classy.

Believe it or not, it was a business run out of an Apple Auto Glass shop. Inside our car community in Toronto, these guys had a really good rep for doing custom leather work in cars. Also, the $1200 included a bunch of re-construction of the foam bolsters and support springs underneath because of the age of the car.

<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}-->First, leather seats are not waterproof. If you spill liquid on the seat, it will seep into the material, potentially leaving a stain.
I advise you to just buy at https://leather-toolkits.com/reviews...s-for-leather/ and follow the rules that I describe below.
All leather surfaces of modern cars are covered with a thin vinyl film. This film gives the leather extra protection and strength, and also extends its lifespan.
Secondly, leather seats are prone to cuts and scratches. Sharp objects can permanently damage the seats if you are not careful.
From a service point of view, everything is pretty simple.
Keep them clean by vacuuming frequently, then rubbing lightly with a soft towel and all-purpose cleaner. (I wrote about this in detail on my website where you will find a step-by-step guide).
