so i think someone keyed my car in the rear trunk area above 350z logo. i bought some touch up paint from the dealer, but they only had the 2-in-1 applicator. i applied that and covered up the scratch, but the paint isnt blending well with the rest of the car. and yes, i matched the color code and all so the paint is the right kind.
i bought some 1000 grit sandpaper and tried that, but i didnt get any good results. what can i do to make the paint blend in more with the rest of the car structure? i read online about some wet sanding and using rubbing compounds, but i dont know if those work or not. some advice please?

Honestly IMO I would take it to a professional. 1K grit sandpaper is not fine enough to match the cars original finish - it can easily leave a hazy surface without buffing. If you don't know how to use a buffer very well--Don't.... It takes alot of practice and it can end up costing you even more money in the end. Good luck getting the scratch fixed.
