Default top repair

has anyone encountered a slash on there top. Someone ****ed me over and slashed the side of my top. Its about 3 Inchs long. Any good ways to fixing it or having to get it replaced is the only option?

I believe I read one thread where someone attempted to patch a slash but it didn't hold. The top had to be replaced. Insurance should cover it though.

The only permanent way to "patch" it would be to have it machine sewn - which requires top removal. At that point, you might as well go with a new one.

If the top is in good shape other than the slash, you could have it hand-stitched in place and an adhesive patch heat-adhered from behind. Won't look that great, but would buy you some time prior to replacing the whole thing.

Recommend going the insurance route (it is vandalism) and doing it right with a replacement.

That sucks ! I would call the dealer just to make sure, but I think your going to have to pay your deductible and have it replaced thru your insurance. Your not going to be happy with a patch.

Yea, SUCKS. They say you should replace it about every three years. Hope you were close to the end of it's useful life .
