Stillen or Nismo?

I had the Nismo for 2 months before I took it down and went another route. It was too quite for me. Almost like stock just a little louder. I tried the Tanabe Hyper Medallion and was taken when I added the Berk Test Pipes then went with Berk's Metallic HFC's. So it really depends on what you want regarding sound. Not that long ago I had the Full JIC Ti Single Exit and that was a beast too loud for my taste.

I'm not a fan of the NISMO or the Stillen as they seem to lack that low frequency low throttle "sound of power."
So Ron, when are you going to post up pictures of your car? I've been waiting forever. Even I posted in the Modified Roadsters thread so the water is safe. Dive in brother!

Go Greddy. I've designed exhaust systems for 17 years and it's the closest to what I would have done. One difference, I plan to add an X-pipe replacing the single swaged resonator and keep a true dual.

Nismo Cat Back Exhaust for 2006 350z Grand Touring Roadster
Can anyone tell me the best place to go for the purchase of a new Nismo Cat Back exhaust? The $1,250.00 price tag seems high, especially with the economy down. Please send a website link or other information. Much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply...
That is a fantastic price and I've looked at West Covina Nissan on the net. Their stated price is around $1,100, which is lower than most. Perhaps if I call them they would give me the same price you received.
I will also follow your suggestions. Thanks a lot.

Do a youtube search for 350z exhaust, put in a set of earbuds and turn up the volume!!! That'll help with exhaust notes. IMHO, you can only tell the difference between stock and Nismo exhaust at WOT....

I know this is an old article, but it was an early test of various exhaust systems for the 350z. NISMO was measured to be louder (at 3k rpms) than both Stillen and Borla.
Unsure if all these exhausts even exist any longer - and some may have changed design - but it is interesting nonetheless.

I don't know guys - maybe my Nismo is 'special' - but it is significantly louder than stock to me. Maybe in a coupe it sounds quieter - but top down it is pure music to my ears. Yes- quiet at cruise which is exactly what I wanted - but acceleration at any speed is louder - above @3500 rpm is sounds very sweet.
