THANKS - I Need to check that out. I was wondering something didnt look right. Is that from the passenger view?

So it should look like this -->

And the "inner cloth" (the little long piece attached to the roof) should wrap around like this

Also - Is light coming in from your rear top weather strip? Picture of what I am talking about will be up soon.

The outside weatherstrip is touching the tonnaue - so I am not sure where the light is coming in from.

Thanks

It looks like you've got it right. I did also have that problem with the seal to the tonnaue. It went away once the top stretched. One thing that helped was not latching the front before the process of closing the top is complete. I had a habbit of latching the front as soon as it was in position. This puts more pressure on the back and keeps it from closing all the way. Allow it to finish and then you can pull against the tightness of the top to close in the front. The problem may result from a combination of the tight top and the flap installation you asked about. I'm no expert but I think that flap keeps the bow in the correct position as the top closes.

I had my top on for almost a month - but the problem still persist. I live in Miami so the heat does get to it - I just don't know why its not closing all the way.

I overnight parked it in the garage with the top down - and when I closed it and reopened it, it closed with the first try. The next day - the problem came back so I'm not sure why its happening. Any idea why?

The problem that I am having is that the bottom velcro flap is not reaching the bow where I can place it in to lock it. If you get what I am saying. I am about 1cm short - so the black plastic lining cannot insert into that metal bow to lock it in place there.

Maybe the velcro flap is preventing the bow from going down more into the tonnaue - thats why I am having trouble closing the top all the way down.

Oh yea - Do you think I should replace the weather strip? It's been almost a month now and it still looks like that from day 1. Air is coming in too while I drive +50 mph - but it sounds like its coming in right behind the ear. On the window seal.

Tell me what you think. Thanks

I think that plastic insert has to be installed before the front is attached. Step 20 and 21 in the instructions show this. You might have to back up to get it right. That sucks but if you've been dealing with this problem for a month, it should be well worth getting it right. I know how that heat is I'm in Houston. You are also probably leaking water into the car.

My local installer told me that 5 years is the avg. life for the OE top if the vehicle has not been garaged. He said the killer is the sun. If you live in a sunny area and don't park your car indoors then the life expectancy can be less than 5 years. I've kept my '04 roadster outdoors in somewhat sunny NorCal and the seam is separating on the right rear.

That's the first bow shilow. My first bow is covered, but my second isn't. The black cloth is over the bow, exposing the bottom of the bow towards me. Is your second bow covered?

No water is actually coming in when it rains. I just need to figure out where the light is coming in from. From the outside - the weather strip touches the tonnaue.

You're correct, my mistake. I think if you open your top half way, you may be able to insert that plastic strip.

Robbins Top is Stayfast cloth. The top doesn't include any seals. Just re-use the old seals unless your top leaks.
