Default question about nismo catback exhaust

I just got a used nismo catback exhaust on my 05 roadster. However, the mufflers touched my rear stock bumper directly. The shop says it's normal and won't cause any problem. I did some research online, and there is always a space between for other Zs with nismo catback.Does anyone know whether its normal or not? Where does the problem come from, the parts or the installation?

Any inputs will be grateful~~

That's not normal! Mine has plenty of space between the tips and the bumper. Your muffler shop is retarded if they say that's normal and won't cause any problems. It will deform your plastic bumper over a long period of use due to the heat & contact!

The problem could be your hangers, it's pretty hard to screw up the installation...but I wouldn't rule that out either

Welcome. A used exhaust may have been “tweaked” a bit for a prefect fit. Usually this is simply bending the hangers. So you will have minor fit differences from one vehicle to another.

That said, the tips must NOT touch the bumper. The tips get hot and will easily burn the plastic bumper.
