I'm just now test fitting the new rollcage, but I'm so excited that I had to snap some pictures. I'll post nicer ones once I have finished cleaning the cage & have finished getting it welded in.
The top is still 100% functional and everything forward of the rollbar/seatbacks can be unbolted and removed for safe street driving. The doorbars make it sorta fun scrambling in and out. I'm just happy that it all fits with my factory seats, upholstery, etc. Once it's welded in, I'll be doing custom fiberglass behind the seat for speakers, etc.

Here in Detroit, I wouldn't last 2 days with that drop.
I'm already fighting some bent rims from the VW sized pot holes
Nice work!

Only the rollbar is permanently welded in the back. Receiving cups are welded into the floor in the front. Everything forward of the rollbar is bolted in and can be removed for street driving. The doorbars, a pillar bars, and roof loop all comes out when I'm not wearing a helmet. That way, I don't have to worry about bashing my brains out on the bars.

Yeah, it'll do for what I'm looking for because all they really asked for was a rollbar. I wanted the cage and doorbars for extra safety. I'm just looking to participate in some novice level autox, & hpde stuff (maybe try a drift event too?). I'm not interested in trying to be competitive - I just want to have some fun. My Z is the 37 year old version of the go-cart that I had at age 10.
Also, it's the custom roll cage from BamBam(Brent)'s car that Forged took to the Salt Flats for the 170mph run, so if it was safe enough for that, it should be safe enough for some parking lot runs in my hands. My car is a slow, heavy, stereo laden, NA roadster with a driver that wants to go home every night but still have some safe, legal fun.
