TPMS jerkaround
Ok, i have a 2005 Z, my stock rim had a cracked spoke. I got a replacement rim from ebay and went to my local TiresPlus or Tires..something. They remounted my existing tire to the new rim. Two days later the TPMS goes off saying I have 31 pressure, yet it checks at 35. Then next day, the light goes on and said 28. Again, I check it and its actually 35. I went back to the Tire place, and they said.."oh..in that case you have to go to the dealer to have it reset." Im like.."but why would it go bad exactly after you guys changed the rim?" They shrugged, and said they hate those TPMS's. I said what if I buy one and bring it to you to put in. he said he will put it in but I still need to go to the dealer to reset. WTF? Then he says if it was bad youd get NO reading.
I figured Id ask my distunguished pals here on what to do next, keep in mind these guys will NOT take responsibility. Could it just need a re-set, and what would dealer charge? thankssssss

Thanks for the fantastic replies, all were very helpful, i couldnt keep up with the info!! Anyway, problem resolved...the putzes had rotated my tires after replacing my rims, throwing the tpms locations off.
