brushless carwash safe for ragtop?
i went through a touchless car wash the other day. everything was fine until i went through the dryer. i thought the force of the warm air coming down on the roof was gonna tear it apart, it was shaking sort of bad.
so for the first time ever, i drove through the dryers as fast as i possibly could!!

Sounds horrible, but it sure would be convenient

I took my roadster through a car wash and all was well, but now iam seeing all thesee posts about car wash and i dont know if continued use will damage mine. The book that comes with the car says not to use a car wash.

seems like, from the info above, it would be ok to go through one that didn't have too high pressure (some are kind of feeble), and just zip throughth blow dryer. Don't know if I have the Juevos to try it though.

The book also says not to use high pressure water systems on the roof. Touchless is very much indeed high pressure.

I wouldn't take any Z through the car wash. Some of the rails that the wheels goes through are too high and can scrap the bottom. The rails can also damage the wheels too. I just wash my Z by hand myself or you can have a car wash service come over and do it by hand. They charge $15 per wash in the L.A. area
Never take a convert through a car wash. This is my second convert, the main issue is with the cloth top. High pressure can separate the woven fibers of the top, which will allow water to come through the top. You can permanently ruin the top. Even at a hand car wash, do not use the high pressure trigger to rinse the top. Most manufacturers even frown on using soaps to clean the top. Soap residue left in the top can rot the fibers (the sun beating down on the top makes the PH level of the soap residue acidic), make sure you rinse the top completely. They recommend cleaning your top using soap once a month or so. You do not have to use soap on your top everytime you wash your car.
