Hello,

Has anybody tried to redye the convertible top.
Just got a 2007 roadster last saturday. I've googled this model and it said it comes with either a black top or a gray top.

I think it mine comes with the gray top, the exterior colour is silver.

Going back to the subject, I read that a RIT dye will do. Has anybody done this? I will appreciate any comments

 

The top is vinyl - I don't think it can be dyed. And RIT wouldn't cut it anyway.

I think the only way you have a gray top is with the frost interior - so if the interior ain't black (or orange seats) you have a gray top.

 

mmmm…. I really thought that the top was canvas. So is it vinyl.
yes, the leather seat is frost, although the dash panel is black.

you think yours comes with a gray top? did you buy the car sight unseen? or are you thinking that the top color was changed by a previous owner? i just dont get what your saying. if you have frost seats but a black dash and roll bars then it sounds like your car had factory black seats that were changed out for frost seats. all the roadsters i have seen with frost seats had frost everything

 

I agree with droe2001. My 07 roadster is all frost grey interior and a grey top.
For interior, everything is frost grey. Personally, I don't like a grey top..
A black top looks clean, but I love a frost interior. Many people said the top is a vinyl not a fabric or a cloth, so I'm using RAGXXXXX Vinyl cleaner and protectant to keep cleaning the top.
