350Z conv top torn
I just bought my first Z; 2008 350Z. Previously in storage/2,000 miles. After 2 weeks, while opening conv top, the mechanism hung up/stopped 3/4 open. After a minute, I closed the top, then re-opened w/o problem. Upon closing the top the next am at work, there was a 4-inch tear on top, pass side, rear section behind/above pass window. No real opportunity for vandalism. Service dept states no possibility of malfunction, but the 2 events are too close together. Are there issues wiht these conv tops?
Appreciate any input about issues w/ these convertable tops.

mine ripped in the exact same place, about an inch tear, was replaced by dealer under warranty, they readjusted everything, but my roof still gets stuck sometime when its like 10C manual says 0C is the limit to stop using in, i like to drive around top down at 5C thinking of getting them to redo the elastic TB as mine gets stuck sometime on the final fold down at those temps.
in the mean time i put some duct tape on the inside of the roof where it previously ripped to help protect it abit from happening again if it ever decides to happen again.
