new pics of my roadster and sportster.
Hi everyone,
I just picked up an 04 roadster and I'm loving it.
I came from a buell 1125CR, even though the buell was faster, I am loving the Z.
Its so nice to hop in and drive, on the bike it took a while to get gear on and get going.
I took some pics this weekend at the parking garage at my college (Cal Poly) and I thought i'd post them:

Thanks.
I'm really enjoying it.
I want to get some matte black rims.
Anyone have any recommendations. I do not want to have to add spacers or roll the fenders, I would like to get 18's or 19's.
What do you guys think of these?
option 1
option 2
What's wrong with the grille? I didn't add it, but I think it looks good.

There's nothing wrong with your grille...."to each his own"...if you like it, that's all that matters. If anything....when you find your black wheels you could also think about powdercoating your grille matte black too?
Anyways....I would recommend 19's with the correct offsets so that you won't need spacers. My "rule of thumb" offset recommendation for 19" wheels: Front +15 to +20 & Rear: +20 to +25 . You won't go wrong with these offsets.
BTW your option links aren't working for me?
Good Luck!

Nice Z. Always liked that burnt orange color.
I would loose the chrome front. The thing I've learned is you can't give chrome away. Sell it at a garage sale or something and get a new front bumper. Like a V2.
My only suggestion on the wheels/tires is wait until you find extactly what you want. If not it could end up costing you a lot more in the long run.
Oh...That bike is sweet.

The wheels i'm leaning toward are tsw nurburgring.

I don't see where the offsets are listed.
Will 19's really fit with no spacers? I was leaning toward 18's because I don't want to get spacers.
I think my zr would look good with black rims.

look about half way down the page, its a z coupe, same color as mine, with those wheels. I think it looks clean.

I don't think those will fit on your Z. The second link is broken.
If that is the style you want (lipless) make sure they have a very concave look. Lots of the vendors here on the site offer lots of wheels.
19"s will work without issue. Spacers may not be needed if you get low offsets. I don't think you will need them if you stay in the high teens low twentys.
Remember too... Are you giving the car a drop?

1. Seems like you have no clue on buying wheels. I'm no expert & surely not being a smart azz!
2. You need to do a lot more research on rim sizes, tire sizes & most importantly offset sizes....you'll find all that info in the wheels section.
3. The offset number in most rims are located inside the rim wall.
4. 18's, 19's, 20's will definitely fit your Z ....having the wrong offsets, then you need spacers, fender rolling & etc.
5. You need to research your rim size for the fronts & rears so you'll know exactly what tire sizes will fit your rims....example, you'll need a 10" rear rim if you want a 275 size tire.
6. Lotta guys buy wheels without doing enough research.....bottom line, all kinds of aggravation plus wasted a lot of money.
Don't get the TSW Nurburgring wheels, I've got em. They aren't bad or anything, but their colors are crap. They look fine online/in magazines but in person they look pretty cheap and practically rub off/scratch easily.
And learn your wheel ish too.
Don't get 19"s either. That fad is way over played and the car rides noticeably harder/lower profile tires handle worse.

resmarted,
What wheels do you suggest?
I have about $2k for the wheels and tires.
I would like matte black wheels, and I like the style of the TSW Nurburgring's.
What size TSW's do you have?
Can you post up a pic of them on your Z?

Another downside on 19" is that the tires are significantly more expensive than 18", even in the same sizes. That's the main reason I stuck with 18s.

Under 2 grand I would go with Varrstoen 18's 18X9.5 front 18X10.5 rear (2.2.1 Matte Blacks) If you like em let me know my buddy has a set sitting in the garage.
Heres the rims website, http://varrstoen.com/blog/?p=937. Volks are the best but they are REALLY expensive. Hope this helps get you started and nice car!!

As far as the ride...hey it's a sports car. My ride is great!
Like I said earlier....don't rush & do more research....you gotta have patience!
I put Rota P45 black with red lip on my 2008 350Z Roadster. 18x8.5 +25 front and 18x9.5 + 20 back. Tires are Brigestone Potenza RE 760 Sport 245/40R 18 front and 275/40R 18 back. Wheels and tires installed and balanced $2,270.00 Canadian. Might be cheaper in the States
