Default DVD-vidoe compatible

I went to the dealership to order my Z today and in passing made a comment about the dvd-rom nav system being video compatible. I was under the influence that it would play movies, but the salesman told me it wouldnt. I went to a sound shop i used to work at to talk to my old boss and he said that there was supposed to be a way to program it to be compatable. Has anyone heard anything like this? If not, im gonna skip the nav system altogether and use that money to get a PS2 and a few screens. Any help would be appreciated.

If you search freshalloy.com, FX 35/45 threads it has been done with the NAV system they use in the FX. It has to be close to what is on the 350. There is also an easy modification to allow input while moving.

here is a link to a company that does just what your talking about. i'm not sure if they offer products for nissan/infinity, but the technology is pretty much the same (in terms of the conversion).
