my 2006 350z roadster rear roof locking mechanism is not working. the roof will open, close and store in the compartment perfectly but the rear locking mechanism will not pull the roof fully closed or locked into place.

i have tried adjusting the auto closure cable but find the cables is lengthened again after each open/close operation. is this a motor problem or is there a quick inexpensive fix?

Is it truly not locking? Or is it just that the indicator light stays on? Sometimes my light wants to stay on (indicating the top isn't fully retracted). When it does, just fully put the top down as usual, then bump the switch like you are going to raise the top and then hit the switch the other way and the light will go out and everything will be locked properly.
