Default Soft top wear problems

Hello all,

I am having problems with my convertible top. I got it replaced 2 and a half years ago and it is already getting holes in it where the frame bars create the shape of the roof basically where your head is. The company that replaced my top told me it was a common problem and he wouldn't cover it under warranty. Has anybody else had this problem? It's a 2005 and the old top lasted at least 6 years by my count so why should this one be dramatically shorter?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

MC

What was the warranty period for your replacement top? Was it a local shop that did the replacement? Any pics to show what the damage looks like?

Sorry to say, if you had a one year warranty on the fabric and you got 30 months out of it before it started to wear again, the shop has lived up to its responsibilities. The other issue is the fabric used- Nissan used a special blend tested for durability. Not quite the same as an aftermarket product.

Nissan's special blend which is vinyl layer bonded to a twill fabric for durability.........IS NOT THAT DURABLE!! As most of us here know that their has been hundreds if not thousands of top complaints since 2004.....so called Nissan special blend tested durability is a joke!
