Default New Z Owner!

Ok so I was in the middle of posting this and my boss showed up, had to close out of the internet tab Now I don't remember everything I've typed!

So let me just start over! I'm a new Z owner for less than 24 hours. I've had my fair share of cars, some of my favorites I've had were a '95 3000GT and my '94 240SX. My last car was an '04 RX-8 but it just hit 100,000 miles and it was almost like a curse. I LOVED the Rotary engine... but there was compression loss, hard startups, you name it and it was probably failing. I came across this '05 Z Touring Roadster and I immediately fell in love with it, my first convertible!

Of course, my first thought was "what should I do first to my Z"? Are there any tips/pointers for new Z owners that we should look out for? Or at least tell me what you modified first

paint the scratched up plastic interior pieces, shorter antenna, and a good thorough interior exterior cleaning.

Welcome to the TORQUE world!!! I came from an 04 auto RX8 GT and while I loved the car, I HAD to have an MT. The Z delivers in all areas imo.

First thing I put in was a new shift **** (on my 7th one) but that might be pointless for an auto. Then was exhaust to liven up the OEM sound.

Sway bars are a MUST for the Z AFTER you learn the car as it sits or else you won't truly notice the difference.

Enjoy the "new" ZR and keep her shiny side up!

I also came from an rx8 and i thought it was a blast to drive but the z will bring you much fewer headaches. Congrats on the purchase!
As others have said, the best first mod you can do is change all fluids because you never know what was done prior to you.

I'm thinking of putting a Nismo exhaust on the car. Before I purchased this one, I saw another Z with a Nismo exhaust and it sounded awesome! Unfortunately I couldn't purchase that one because my financing wouldn't allow anything to do with a rebuilt title. Either that one or the HKS exhaust sounds good from what I've seen on some YouTube vids.

We don't have many tricked out Z's around here so I don't know what to go off of. Most people around here are running around in their little civics or integras with the cheap pep boy's muffler on it.

Definitely some deep dish rims when I get to that point. From what I've seen on other posts the 20" wheels are just too big... I feel like a little kid on Christmas, can't wait to get my hands dirty with this one!
