Default 04 convertible top

I bought a new top from sierra for my 04 roadster. Would you guys recommend DIY or taking it to a reputable shop? If shop how much do they usually charge for the install? Thanks

This is the sort of post almost impossible to answer. Regarding DIY, it depends on several factors, such as mechanical skill, tools and whether a garage is available to house the ZR while you attempt to do the job itself. It's not an easy job if you've never attempted it yourself. And as far as labor costs, that's almost a regional question that's better answered by comparing several estimates from reupholstery shops in Long Island.

I replaced the stock top on a 2001 MR2 with a cloth top that I bought off of Ebay. I had it professionally installed. Well worth the $450! Worked perfectly!

I've put 2 tops on my 05 using the guide someone from here made. Usually took about 8 hours total, 2nd time I did some the night before and the rest the next morning. Not sure if any of the links are still valid (I know comcast deleted my upload). Just download it and look through it, it's pretty detailed with pictures.
