2004 Nissan Convertible doesn't shut all the way down. its closes but the back window doesn't go down

 

OK there are several threads here that explain the issue. The way I understood to check the issues are as follows:
1. check to see the two elastic straps that are located on the inside of the roof kinda right above your head (one on driver side and the other on passenger side). Check to see if they are loose. Many You-tube videos are available on how to fix those. I would get a 3 inch wide elastic strap and wrap it around to tighten it. then try to open the top and see if that works for you. If not then:
2. Lubricating all moving parts with high quality while lithium grease and cotton swab. there is a video floating here that shows how to.
3. Fifth bow motor. is usually the culprit.
The replacement elastic pieces is $80 per side from dealer and comes with rivets. You have to drill out the existing rivets and install the new ones. Try this and report back to see if that helped solve the issue.

Also when posting a question, please add additional information as to how many miles, what kind of driving you do, or how many times you open the top, weekend drive etc., so we can get an idea of the usage on the car. For example I just bought my car and it is 2006 with only 52K on it, Mint condition but I notices the elastic straps are getting loose and I installed for now a 3 inch elastic strap that helps with the opening and closing.
