Default Latching/Unlatching Top

My tonneau cover had the extra shim and was uneven and thus caused a small spot of the paint to rub off. Before I got it fixed my top seemed to latch real easy. Now it seems harder to latch. Maybe that was the reason for the extra shim. Nissan solved one problem and created another lol. I have to say I would much rather have a top harder to latch thsn it rubbing paint off.

seems like i have encountered this latching problem. muscleknight, did you ever fix this problem. Seem like unlatching is still fine for me, just the latching part seem REALLY hard.

This just started happening last week after I was done with a canyon run.

ely,

They did 2 adjustments on my tonneau cover. Someone on another thread on here posted that they think the tonneau cover warps in the heat. My car sits out in the heat at work and agree with that post that the tonneau cover does warp. When I got my car back from tonneau cover adjustment and I crouched down on the ground and looked both sides of my cover were even. After sitting out in the heat of the day I noticed the right side of my cover wasn't even. I took my hand and pressed down on that side and now its even again. For extra protection I also got some 3M film like they use for the clear bras applied to that area as well. My cover did rub the 3M film before I discovered that I could press down on the cover to make it even again.

The reason the latch is hard to operate is because of the tonneau cover?

Did they have to replace the cover?

And yes, the 2 times the latch became hard to operate was after long hot days and after over 2 hours of driving.

It rubbed a spot of paint off right in the center of my tonneau cover.
