Default Chromed factory wheels on roadster

I have a friend who owns a large chrome shop and wants to chrome my factory 18" wheels. He thinks it would look great. How do you guys think they would look. I was wondering how the cap would look if it is still silver with the chome Nissan emblem. The cap would still match the car which is silver. I have a silver roadster with a blue top.

I can take detailed pics of my 17" wheels that the dealer had chromed. They look awesome, and really should be part of the standard look (esp on CS).

I also have a silver roadster, and that is the one thing I want most....my wheels chromed. What does he charge?

Also, chrome the entire center cap, do not leave part of it silver...IMO

Default Chroming the Alumimum Wheels

I have read that chroming aluimum wheels will cause problems. I have read that over time that the chrome will flake off. Nissan now offers chrome 18" rims that while more expensive would probably cause less problems over time. Just have to weigh the cost of getting them rechromed if the chrome starts to flake. I think the Nissan chrome rims are like $1,680 and if you have to get your aluminum rims rechromed then that is 1,400 right there and would almost be the same as price as the Nissan wheels. There are also a lot of aftermarket chrome rims out there too.

I will ask him about your concern about flaking on aluminum rims. He is a friend and will give me an honest answer. He also said he would personally do my wheels. He has a huge operation and knows what he is doing.

It would be great if I could see some pics.

I exchanged my 17's in 3 days from California, for only $550 triple plated chrome. They make the car even more awesome. Drop me an email and i'll give you the details.

Where are those pics!? I have a CS enthusiast and that's the one "mod" I might like to do...

Dunc's pics look great on the SS but I'd really like to see then on the CS with the top up and down.

Thanks!

If you don't buy out your car at the end of your lease, you're legally obligated to return the car in it's original condition, minus a small degree of wear and tear (i.e. a few minor scratches would be ok, but bald tires and a cracked fender would not). This includes mods.

HOWEVER -

You're increasing the market share (if only a limited market), and your dealer's leasing agent may allow this. Your best bet is to find out from the agent, and if so, GET IT IN WRITING.
