Default Ride Quality vs. Miata

I have a 350z roadster on order.

I drove a Miata from Naperville (chicago), to Grand Rapids, MI today.

does anyone know how the Miata compares in ride quality compared to the Z car?

I work in Naperville (sell cars) and I sold the guy a Miata over the Internet. Aren't a nice manager that I drove the car to Grand Rapids?

I owned a Miata before my Roadster and it is very difficult to compare the two. The 350 Roadster(mine's an '04) ride was less harsh than the 350 coupe, probably because of the weight and the fact that Nissan changed the suspension setup for "04. The Miata is a relatively light car and the standard suspension setup is firm but not choppy. Both are excellent handling cars and the rides are pleasant but if I had to make a long trip I definitely would prefer the 350 Roadster. At high speed the Miata definitely requires that you stay on your toes.

Agreed with above.

I trade-in '99 Red Miata for '04 Black 350 ZR. I think I like the way the Miata handle better because it is a lighter car. I felt like I could toss Miata around much more than ZR.

But overall I like the ZR better.

Drove neighbor's Miata. First the Z feels alot heavier duty. Kinda like a Caddy vs. a Pontiac. That help at all?

I have had three Miatas - 96, 01, & 04. I agree its hard to compare the two, they are very different. Regarding the ride and feel, the ZR feels more like a touring coupe with very capable performance. I happen to like the ZR far better than my past Miatas. In my opinion, they are both great cars with two very different personalities. Regardless, you won't be disappointed.

I already bought the Z, it's on order, but I manager a Car dealership, and my duties required me to sell a Miata to someone 250 miles away. This forced me to DRIVE a Miata for 250 miles. I have YET to drive a ZR for 500 miles.

Last weekend I did a San Diego - Vegas round trip, about 700 miles total. I gotta admit, I was a little stiff by the time we ended the trip. There definately can be some additional lumbar support and my right hip definately noticed the time I spend on the gas pedal. Of course, I'm 37 and nearly completely broken because of previous injuries. That said, I wouldn't trade it for the world. The best part of the trip was the drive
